Mission Statement
Velvet Chair Theatre Company's mission is to foster a love for the arts in Northeast Mississippi. We exist to educate and train individuals in the world of theatre. We strive to inspire the community and our beloved audience members as they experience true joy, sadness, wonder, suspense, excitement and many other emotions that live theatre brings out in us.
At our core, we are committed to working with students as they explore all that the arts have to offer. We create safe environments for students to grow on and off the stage. We train students in their craft, foster their imagination, and teach excellence.
Theatre Opportunities

Community Theatre
- Traditional community theatre for all ages (ages vary per production)
- Celebrate community and the arts
- Full-length plays and musical opportunities throughout the year

Youth Theatre
- Theatre camp productions for elementary, middle, and high school students
- KIDS, JR, and Full-length musicals and plays designed for students' education and growth
- Work with trained professionals
- Educational instruction/training throughout camp/rehearsals on top of preparing for the show
- Pay camp participation fee, audition, and get ready for the start of camp!

- Extra training opportunities in various theatrical elements (auditions, costuming, voice, dance, acting techniques, make-up, etc.)
